Helai Karimi is a Board Member with the Afghan Literacy Foundation. She immigrated to the United States with her family when she was less than a year old. Outside of her work with the Afghan Literacy Foundation, she has a background in Human Resources and Operations. Helai made the move from ALF Sponsor to Board member after the devastating news of the recent education ban placed on girls in Afghanistan. Although she has always believed that education is a catalyst for change, she understands that belief is feeble without action. She strives to aid the Afghan Literacy Foundation to further its mission and drive positive change in the lives of those most vulnerable in Afghanistan.
